Phoenixville, PA – January 24, 2025 – Ann's Heart is thrilled to announce that it has received a $25,000 emergency grant from The Foxwynd Foundation. This grant, distributed through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), will help to fund critical roof repairs for the 122-year-old former Sacred Heart Church building, constructed in 1903, which serves as a cornerstone of the HEART Campus in Phoenixville.

The HEART Campus, purchased by Ann's Heart in March 2024, is home to vital community services including emergency shelter, basic needs support, housing case management, and food programs. The former Sacred Heart Church, once a vibrant place of worship, is now repurposed as part of a thriving hub of human services for the Phoenixville community. Preserving this historic structure is essential to ensuring that it continues to serve the community for generations to come.
Pamela Villagra, Executive Director of The Foxwynd Foundation, shared, “We are proud to partner with Ann’s Heart in preserving this significant building and supporting the invaluable services offered to the community. Together, we are safeguarding a space that fosters resilience and provides essential services to vulnerable populations in the region.”
Ann’s Heart’s Executive Director, Kristen McGee, added, “We are deeply grateful for The Foxwynd Foundation’s generous support. This grant ensures that we can address urgent repairs and protect this beautiful structure while continuing to serve the Phoenixville community through our programs and services.”
The former Sacred Heart Church has played a pivotal role in Phoenixville’s history, first serving as a place of worship for Slovak-speaking immigrants and now as a vital component of Ann’s Heart’s mission to provide a welcoming space for human services. The grant will fund a much-needed roof replacement, which was previously deferred due to the high costs of materials and labor, ensuring the preservation of this historic structure for future generations.
The HEART Campus now hosts over ten nonprofit partners and supports a variety of programs, including the HEART Kitchen, which prepares over 500 meals weekly for residents in need. Maintaining and restoring this historic building is essential to sustaining this hub of support, ensuring that Ann’s Heart
and its nonprofit partners can continue meeting the growing needs of the Greater Phoenixville region.
