The Center for Emergency Resources and Housing (CERAH)

CORE SERVICES

Seasonal Programs & Supportive Services

We provide emergency programs for individuals experiencing housing insecurity in our area, including access to shower and laundry facilities.

Housing Case Management

Assistance applying for housing and other resources provided by local and county-based providers.*

* Provided to Phoenixville area residents experiencing homelessness who have called 2-1-1 and

have been verified as homeless by the Chester County Street Outreach Team.

Services we do not provide

While we aim to meet as many needs as possible, we cannot do it all.
 

We do NOT provide:

  • Rental Assistance or Eviction Prevention

  • ​Financial Assistance / Utility Bill Assistance

  • Hotel Stays

  • Vehicle Repair or Purchase Assistance

  • Legal Services / Advice

  • Gift cards

Winter Program & Services

​Ann's Heart believes that whether it is 35º or 40º it is too cold to sleep outside at night during the winter months. This is why CERAH's Winter Program is provides overnight emergency shelter from mid-November to mid-April seven days a week. However, during a severe weather event the center may remain open throughout the day to ensure that guests have a safe and warm place to shelter from the storm.

* Shelter and Housing Case Management are available to qualifying individuals from the Phoenixville area who are homeless or at imminent risk, AND who have called 2-1-1 to be connected to Chester County's Coordinated Entry System.

Summer Program & Services

The CERAH Summer Supportive Services Program offers free access to shower and laundry facilities to individuals from the Phoenixville area. 

​​​​

Summer Program services include access to:

  • Showers and laundry
    (Towels, toiletries, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and a laundry-folding area are available)

  • Lockers
    (Available to hold belongings while guests are in the building. All belongings must leave with the guest.)

  • Water, coffee, and snacks​​

  • Housing case management *​

  • Direct referrals to other services and resources

Code Red

Daytime Emergency Cooling

Open on days where the heat index is 95 degrees or hotter, the Code Red program, located below Sacred Heart Church in Phoenixville, provides a hot weather, daytime cooling center for men, women and families. According to Chester County regulations, "Code Red procedures are put into place when the daytime temperature reaches 95 degrees F by 11am on two consecutive days or temperatures reach 100 degrees F any given day."

Housing Case Management

Housing Case Management is available to qualifying individuals from the Phoenixville area who are homeless or at imminent risk, AND who have called 2-1-1 to be connected to Chester County's Coordinated Entry System. Anyone interested in case management must complete our intake process and provide proof of residency.

​

We do NOT provide cash assistance, gift cards, rental or utility assistance.​
