About the Role
Ann’s Heart CERAH Program Support Staff are responsible for opening and staffing the emergency resources center, assisting guests with basic needs, providing information on community resources, maintaining inventory, cleanliness and order in the center.
Key Responsibilities
• Opening and maintaining operations at the center during designated hours, including direct interaction with guests to meet basic needs such as food, hygiene, and referral to resources as needed.
• Conducting a brief intake with new guests
• Ensuring guests are following rules and guidelines
• Stocking food pantry shelves and doing simple inventory checks
• Light cleaning duties
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of local service providers
• Encourage client engagement and self-advocacy
• Maintain strict guest confidentiality
• File staff reports each shift
• Attend team meetings and trainings
Requirements
• Have work experience, a strong interest and/or volunteer experience in human services, client support, or community work
• Have a strong ability to work in a trauma-informed, client-centered manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with diverse populations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Have reliable transportation
• Be able to lift up to 30 lbs
• Bilingual capability is a plus
Salary & Hours
Salary: starting at $16.00/hour Hours: Up to 20 hours per week
Shifts Available:
Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Thursday: 11:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Qualifications & Expectations
Staff members must possess good verbal and writing skills, have reliable transportation to and from work (including during inclement weather), and be easily reachable by phone, email, and/or text messages. Staff will be responsible for their assigned shifts. Should changes be required, staff will coordinate coverage with other staff and/or Staff Supervisor no less than 24 hours prior except in the event of emergency. Staff members must be able to remain calm in stressful situations, and balance compassion with the ability to set boundaries and adhere to program rules.
This position is subject to a monthly performance review. All applicants will be subject to a full background check, including State and Federal criminal history, and child abuse clearances. Staff members must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
